Colin Cooper is a British-born, Australian-based pencil pusher and carpenter/builder whose writing blends crime, mystery, adventure and history with a distinctly British sensibility.

His Murder Mysteries feature DCI Jack Boulton and DS Georgie Banks, two Scotland Yard detectives tackling fast-moving contemporary crimes across London and beyond. Their cases are driven by buried motives, sharp clues, memorable locations and the small details others overlook.

For younger readers, Billy & the Battersea Boys follows four thirteen-year-old friends growing up in Battersea, London in 1985. With BMX bikes, Walkmans, Fulham Football Club, Vinyl collections, hidden tunnels, local streets and Buster the terrier, their adventures combine friendship, humour and classic British mystery.

Alongside his fiction, Blood of Wessex traces more than 1,500 years of Colin’s own family history through English dynasties, castles, knights and royal ancestry, reaching back to Cerdic and the kings of Wessex.

After more than forty years in the building industry as a carpenter, master builder, project manager and engineered timber technical specialist, Colin brings very descriptive practical knowledge of buildings and construction into his writing.

His influences range from Enid Blyton, Emily Brontë and Roald Dahl to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Alfred Hitchcock, James Herbert, Michael Robotham, Peter James and Ann Cleeves.

Colin reads whenever he gets the chance and is often listening to audiobooks while driving. He still prefers pencils, sharpeners, rubbers and post-it note idea's stuck all over the wall - usually with a pot of Yorkshire Gold tea nearby and the odd chocolate digestive.
