In 1985, seventeen-year-old Daisy Derwent notices a strange golden light moving behind the shuttered windows of an empty riverside house.
 

Lantern House has been locked since the death of its owner, Edwin Bell. But when the light returns night after night, a mysterious brass key is pushed through the letterbox and Daisy turns to private investigator Emily Goodhope for help.
